steamOpurge® is a registered trademark to Clean Label Foods Gourmet Inc. When heating our Fusia products please do not remove or pierce the skin or sealing film. Our packaging has been specially designed to create a steaming effect during heating and cooking. This will keep the product extremely moist and never over cooked. When heating and or cooking, the film will create a big bubble and will look like it will explode, however it won’t. Once it reaches the max limit, it will purge a small pressure release valve in the film and will continue to steam. Once removed from microwave, film will contract again and create a vacuum. Please let it sit for a minute before peeling film and enjoying your Fusia meal.   COOKING INSTRUCTIONS From Frozen Microwave

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Is this a frozen product or is it an RTE? The product is a Frozen Ready to Eat (RTE) meal. It is highly recommended to follow instructions to make sure the product reaches a temperature of 145F (seafood) and 165F (poultry) before consumption.
  2. What are the steps taken to ensure safety of Seafood meals? Fusia products are fully cooked in skin packed packaging, undergone High Pressure pasteurization (HPP). HPP treatment achieves food safety objectives by inactivation of various pathogens including Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella, and Staphyloccocus aureus, E. Coli, Vibrio vulnificus, while maintaining product freshness and high-quality attributes. One bacterium that has shown some resistance to HPP is C. Botulism. The control for this bacterium is achieved by maintaining the product as frozen or under 38F storage condition.
  3. If your product is sold frozen, why do you use HPP? We use HPP as an additional method of shelf extension in case the product is slacked out and sold refrigerated. This process will ensure the quality and the safety of the product.
  4. If we slack out the product, how much shelf life can we expect? The product remaining frozen or at temperatures below 38F can yield a shelf life of up to 45 days.
  5. Why does your package say cook instead of heat if your product is already cooked? This is another way to make sure that the consumer is cooking the product thoroughly in case of temperature abuse in the store or distribution center. It is another fail-safe step to protect the consumer and the supply chain.
  6. What is a TTI and why do we need it and why is it so expensive? A TTI is a Time and Temp Indicator. It is placed on each retail package. This is only provided if the store intends to sell the product slacked out or never frozen. This indicator will alert the consumer and the store personnel if the temperature has been abused and renders the product not safe for consumption. The cost of these units are passed on directly without any mark up.
  7. Which items do you see selling better than others? Blackened Salmon and Thai Salmon seem to grab more attention for healthy consumers, however the Stir Fried Chongqing style performs very well in the spicy category.
  8. What do you consider good movement and where would we display this product? This product tends to do well in the Seafood frozen section as a dinner item. However, in the smaller more specialized stores we see stronger movement in the deli grab and go section. This tends to serve more of a lunch or a fast casual dinner cliental.
